The meeting is a wonderful way to network and to meet your peers.

HAPPY HOURS - (Throughout the Year)

The YLS sponsors several happy hours during the year.  Be on the look out for notices over e-mail and in the DCBA weekly update.

MOCK TRIAL (February through March)

Each year, the Young Lawyers Section of the Delaware County Bar Association proudly sponsors and organizes local high schools in a mock trial competition written and hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Association. The trials of the Pennsylvania Bar Association problem are held at the Delaware County Courthouse before local judges and attorneys who sit as jurors and volunteer to hear individual and team presentations. Students are critiqued on their skills participate in every aspect of preparing their cases for trial. Emphasis is made during judging on the effectiveness of the overall presentation as well as the individual’s abilities and legal argument.

The competition is an enjoyable way for students to gain knowledge of the legal system as well as to learn the invaluable skill of public presentation. The winning team of the overall Delaware County competition participates in the state-wide competition with schools from across Pennsylvania.

The Young Lawyers proudly sponsors the educational event, which runs each year in the months of February and March, and are grateful for the support of the Delaware County Bench and Bar in this worthwhile experience. Anyone interested in volunteering their time, please contact Joseph Lesniak at 610-891-4161.

TEXAS HOLD'EM TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER - MARCH 28, 2008

The Young Lawyers of Delaware County cordially invite all young and old attorneys, bench and bar, and family and friends, to participate in the Second Annual Texas Hold’Em Tournament on Friday, March 28, 2008.

Come and prove that you are the Texas Hold’Em Champion!  Have fun testing your poker prowess while raising money to help underprivileged children.  Enjoy great fun, great food, great company, and chances to win great prizes. Seating is limited so reserve your seat early.

All proceeds will benefit the Young Lawyers’ Annual Holiday Party for underprivileged children.

NEW JUDGES’ COCKTAIL RECEPTION - April 24, 2008

Each spring, the section sponsors a cocktail reception designed to give young lawyers the opportunity to meet and talk with the judges of the Delaware County Bench on a social level.

This year's party will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bar Association Building. The Cocktail Party creates an opportunity for lawyers who practice in differing areas to socialize and interact with the judges and district justices of Delaware County. The party serves as an excellent opportunity to meet other attorneys and new members of the bar, and to network. The event is open to all members of the Delaware County Bar Association.

PHILLIES AT CITIZENS BANK PARK - Spring of 2008
