DCBA Initiatives in 2014

President Jonathan Peri and the Board of Directors have launched several important initiatives for 2014, with the goal of enhancing services to our members.

The Long Range Planning Committee has begun the process of formulating a Strategic Plan for the DCBA.  Having a three to five year plan will help the Association to chart its future and better serve its members.  Within the next couple of weeks, DCBA members will be receiving surveys, and the responses to these surveys will be used in developing our plan.  Member feedback will be critical in helping the Association to adopt a plan which will keep the DCBA strong and relevant to its membership.

To chronicle the history of the Association, the DCBA received a generous grant from the E. Wallace Chadwick Fund to purchase computer and scanning equipment so that historical photographs and records can be better preserved.  In the next couple of months, invitations will be sent to the members to attend complimentary luncheons at which photographs will be viewed in an effort to identify the members who appear in those photos.  This will be a great opportunity for attorneys to get together and share in the process of preserving important DCBA history.

This year's Bench Bar Conference is scheduled for June 4,5, and 6, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Resort.  As always, this will be an opportunity for great camaraderie, but this year's program will also offer up to 12 CLE credits.  Registration information can be found by clicking HERE.

Thank you for your continued support of the DCBA!

The Young Lawyers' Section held a 5K Run to benefit Ronald McDonald House last October.  As a result, the section raised over $5,000, which was used to sponsor one of the guestrooms at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.  On February 11, 2014, Patrick Daley, Chair of the YLS, and William Baldwin, Executive Director, attended the unveiling of the room.  The YLS holds its run annually, so please consider participating in 2014!
