Rule 6.1 of the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct encourages all attorneys to render public interest legal service. The Delaware County Bar Association supports this rule by asking its members to take pro bono cases through Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania ("LASP"). Because of the large number of requests which LASP is receiving for representation, it is more critical now than ever to have a corps of volunteer attorneys available.
The DCBA has been awarded a generous grant from the Pennsylvania Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts Program ("IOLTA") for the last three years to employ a part-time Pro Bono Coordinator to work out of the DCBA and serve as a liaison between our members and LASP. Jacqueline Csop has been serving as the Pro Bono Coordinator. She maintains a list of attorneys who are available to provide pro bono service. Also, if you are interested in volunteerring for this important service, feel free to contact Jackie at (610) 566-6625, extension 227, or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For your convenience, we are also providing a Pro Bono Enrollment Form below. Simply complete the form and hit "submit", and your information will be e-mailed to Jackie Csop.
The DCBA thanks you for your willingness to consider pro bono service.
Individuals seeking pro bono representation need to contact Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania at (877) 429-5994 to be screened and qualified. The DCBA does not perform client intakes.
